Juvenile dermatomyositis and juvenile polymyositis are the most common forms of juvenile myositis (JM), debilitating diseases that affect approximately 5,000 children in the United States. The disease attacks a child’s immune system and can cause weak muscles, skin rashes, fatigue, calcinosis, vasculitic ulcers, and contractures, all of which can lead to additional life-threatening problems. The Cure JM Foundation (Cure JM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to finding a cure for JM, while also providing support and information for families affected by JM. Cure JM is continually striving to raise awareness about the disease and to secure critical funding for research efforts aimed at finding a cure for JM.   By choosing to support the 2009 Concert for Cure JM, you will play a vital role in helping us to secure the funding we need to fight this disease.
